Team Spirit

Team Spirit swept into the world of indie rock with a characteristic blend of youthful energy and raw talent. The music project was spearheaded by Ayad Al Adhamy, an integral part of Passion Pit, where he amicably departed to form Team Spirit in 2012. Since then, his eclectic music style, intriguing lyrics, and adrenaline-charged performances have struck a chord with fans of various sub-genres of rock.

One cannot talk about Team Spirit without acknowledging the significant role they've played in the realm of music videos. They'd go down in history as the band who had their entire album turned into an animated death fest. Teaming up with Swedish director Johannes Helgelin, their absurdly fun music video trilogy for "Teenage Love," "Killing Time," and "Jesus He's Alright" took viewers on a roller-coaster ride through the valley of death, brimmed with gratuitous gore, bizarrely endearing demons, and a healthy amount of callbacks to classic zombie movies. It was as if they had thoughtfully wrapped a satire on conventional afterlife narratives in the rich consistency of their punk-rock sound. An interesting fact? The main characters for their animated videos were designed based on the band members themselves. Sipping tea while watching your animated self battle demons, certainly adds a fresh twist to the phrase, "living vicariously."
