IRON REAGAN

Iron Reagan, hailing from Richmond, Virginia, is certainly not your ordinary thrash crossover band. Rocketed to prominence in 2012, this energetic and regaling troupe quickly gained a reputation as the genre's off-beat, judgment-free zone - slapping your eardrums with a kind of sound that could dispatch even the most seasoned metalheads into an untamed circle pit of sweaty uppercuts. Not just the music, their penchant for eccentric and ebullient imagery in their music videos invariably kept audiences on their toes, sometimes bewildering, other times downright bemusing, but always entertaining.

One such video is for their song "Miserable Failure." Directed by none other than Whitey McConnaughy, the video is reminiscent of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," but if it were set in an alternate universe where everyone is Indiana Jones, fighting off hipster zombies with vinyl records. A truly enticing spectacle! Another, "Eyeball Gore" is not for the faint of heart. A macabre, yet oddly satisfying montage of eyeballs in movies, which could put a seasoned horror fan on edge, yet perfectly complements the band’s full-throttle sonic assault. Now, for all those '80s arcade gamers out there, you will flourish in the nostalgia of the pixelated video game themed visuals conjured up for "Technology's Progress." All these idiosyncratic directorial choices have inevitably made Iron Reagan a distinctive voice in the world of thrash metal.
